So many more drawings! :D
Still no more Triangle Dudes. I'm sorry. The ideas are down, but not made yet. Eeep. Anywho, I've nearly finished my tutorials on the human skeleton and can draw most of it completely from my mind! It feels great to have a greater understanding of the internal components of the human body. Now it's on to the muscles, and Triangle Dude.Sunday, December 16, 2012

Totes Tutes
Any who, I finally started doing some human anatomy tutorials. I purchased The Structure of Man probably over 2 years ago and have only now just finally started doing the tutorials. About time! I have to say though, that I am thoroughly enjoying them and it's making drawing from my mind much easier. The human body is the main focus of the course. I'm still only on the upper body skeletal structure, but I feel like I've already learned, relearned, and revived so many new and dormant skills. To keep track, and to make sure I reinforce the information I learn again and again until it is second nature, I've started to keep a digital sketchbook of my work. And now, I'm gonna shares it with you!

I'm alive!
Yes. I live. It's been while. Busy times and other projects have resulted in 0 Triangle Dude Comics. Some are in the works, but it moves slow, and this cold is not helping. However! I figured I would present one of the other projects that I've been working on.
I present: Anatomy of a Snake Bite!
This two-pane picture reveals the skeleton of both a human hand and a snake - before and after a big bite! The pictures were first sketched. By placing the sketch beneath some bleed-proof special copic marker paper I was able to trace over and color the sketch on the top layer. It was enjoyable piece to make requiring me to look at various snake skeletons. The twisting spine was the most difficult part. The left pane depicts the hand before being bitten - vertical lines serve to deliver a sense of motion as the snake strikes. On the right, the static, high contrast black background depicts a powerful moment frozen in time.
Here's some larger pictures of each pane.

Book for sale!
It's finally ready!!
Triangle Dude Comics: Volume 1 is published and ready for sale! You can find it at its own little e-store for $18.00 US. It will also be available via Amazon's website in the near future.
The website now has a Shop page all to itself so people can link to the book or other merchandise for sale.
It's exciting to finally see this thing through to fruition! It took a while longer than I thought it would and longer than I'd ever intended, but the end product was well worth it. Thanks again to all the fans who have supported me over the years! :D

Got the Proof!
I got the Triangle Dude Comics Volume 1 proof a day ago! Which means it is oh so close!
I'm giving it one final look over and correcting any mistakes I find before putting it out for reals! It is amazing to actually feel it in my hands. The cover, the pages, it all feels like a real book and has real book weight and even smells like a book. I haven't tasted it - maybe later.
"Pictures or it never happened!"
Here ya go. :D

The Return
The hiatus is over! Hooray! There is a brand new comic on the website today. Thank you again to Ahren Bader-Jarvis for the idea in this comic.
New comics have returned, but there is no set schedule as of now. I shall be adding new comics sporadically and irregularly. You might be able to expect about 1 comics per week, maybe more, maybe less. However, there will be no more waiting months for a comic.
Also, the Triangle Dude Book is nearly done and in it's final review process. Take a gander at the cover :D

Progress Report
It's taking a little longer than expected, but I'm going as fast as I can!
The book is in it's final revision and is on it's way to amazon's "createspace" which will be handling the printing and shipping of the book. With any luck it should be ready shortly. Of course, no guarantees because my estimation for this kind of stuff is apparently terrible.
Since the book is now just being uploaded and setup online I have picked up my stylus and begun drawing comics again! The comics will resume a more random, probably once a week, non-scheduled schedule. Probably not what people want to hear, but at least there will be new comics!
Work on the second volume has already begun, but will only be touched here and there and will not be top priority at the moment.

Revisiting Civilization 3
After reading about the ten year Civilization 2 game a Reddit has been playing I instantly wanted to play too! I don't have Civilization 2 however, but have the 3rd installment in the series instead. It's still super fun.
Civilization 3 has a set turn limit, which I suspect is different from Civilization 2, because the Reddit user was well into the 4th millennium, nearly the year 4000. I really wish Civilization 3 didn't have this limit, but, oh well. It's all I got. I had just managed to get Modern Armor before satisfying one of the other victory conditions I had set (control over 66% of the world). My conquest was not complete! But alas, it was over and that's okay. Here's some screenshots though!

My first city was named Vorgus. Then we got Superfly and the illustrious Timbertown. Timbertown was settled in some forests, thus the name. The Germans were above me. After I declined their offer for me to give them the Alphabet, and after they declared war on me, I proceeded to liberate their cities from their crazy leaders.
To the south I named my cities Cowtown (there were cows) and Badgerville (furs I believe). Coastcrazies and Hippie were both very happy cities during my reign.
Here I am taking out the rest of the Arab nation. Their army of 40 Medieval Infantry and 20 Riflemen were no match for my 30 TOW Infantry. It was frightening to see their numbers at first, but they crumbled to my might. MUHAHAHAHA
Wow, that game really took that long to play! This was on a super small map too. That's 8 hours I could have been playing Diablo III. But so worth it.
My power can not be denied! BAHAHAHA HA.

WOO!
The book is pretty much done! The "Try to find Me" page is done (similar to Where's Waldo) and now the book is entering the final stage of editing and reviewing and setting up online. :D
Comics should be returning to the website sometime next month in a sort of casual sporadic schedule as I will be starting work on the second and third Triangle Dude volumes as well. Also, a book called "I Got You a Cloud" will be worked on for publishing which I had made years ago.
Here's a nice picture.

Book Progress
Hey y'all! Just to let everyone know I've got some good feelings that this book will be all done sometime during May (I think). I've decided to break the book up into smaller volumes, and the first one is nearing completion! It's exciting yes!?
Instead of one massive book with the first 300 comics, as I've said, I'm going to break them into smaller volumes. Each volume will consist of 100 comics, some extra never-before-seen comics (oOOoOO!), and some other extra tidbits. The idea is, while one book to rule them all might be nice, I feel like the cost of one mighty book (anywhere between $50-60!) will put off any potential buyers. Smaller installments will probably be much more appealing (and be priced under $20).
So that's my plan! And so far so good, the first book is nearly there and the next ones will be easier and quicker to put together because... I'M LEARNING! :D Also, I won't have to start right from scratch.
Here's a little picture, because making a post with nothing but text is BORING!
Thanks for everyone's patience!

BUTTONS!
Buttons! Buttons do all sorts of cool and amusing things. Why, the world nearly works on the push of a button these days. Kind of. They have buttons for stopping, buttons for moving, and buttons for blowing things up. All in a button's day of life. Triangle Dude just got some buttons of his own. They may not blow anything up (hopefully they don't), but they are still fancy and useful. Kind of.
Each comic has it's own Facebook Like, Twitter Tweet, Reddit, Digg, and Stumble Upon buttons now. The RSS button is also still in the group. Hanging out next to the "next" button. They get along. It's a good thing. Anywho, it's easier for people to share, and like, and do socially internetty things with Triangle Dude now. :D

Fan Expo!
Just thought I'd let people know about the Fan Expo in Vancouver this April! Of course, only people in or near Vancouver will probably be interested in reading about it unless you plan to travel far away from whatever chair your butt does rest upon to the Canadian west coast!
There's going to be celebrity guests like Hercules, Batman, and the Hulk, as well as other anime guests, comic guests, and video game guests! Lots of exhibitors will be there with plenty of cool stuff to see I'm sure. There's the artist alley which I am definitely going to stroll down. One day... I'd like to be in an alley of art. Oh yes. There's the batmobile exhibit, panels, q and a sessions, etc etc. lots of fun!
It all takes place down in Vancouver at the convention center I believe! Here it is! April 21-22 2012

Book Book
Well... work on the book continues and content and layouts are coming along. Still a lot to do, but I'm doin' it! I'm gettin' there! Progress is being made! I'm hoping, and guessing, that the majority of the work will be done end of April, mid May. Then it's just paperwork, fees, or whatever other unforeseen nonsense that pops up to do. That's all I have to say about that.

Done! ...some stuff
So, while the comics are still in their temporary break I've been working on content and putting together the Triangle Dude book. It's coming along well, and as you may or may not know if you've been or may not have been following along in the blog that I've been coloring all the Triangle Dude characters. They'll be making appearances in the book, but I've also arranged them all onto a poster in the meantime.
There's a shot of the whole thing...
and there's a close up from a section of it!
Also, Zazzle, the company which handles printing and shipping of Triangle Dude merchandise and my other designs has introduced a host of new items. There's puzzles, plates, pillows, and more, oh my! I've added some other new things, like this awesome and ever appropriate plate. If there's any design anyone wants on any particular item, like a mug, or etc. just send me a message! Now back to work!
